1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the website https://anon.li and any services provided by anon.li ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and anon.li. If you do not agree to all of these Terms, you are prohibited from using the Service and must discontinue use immediately.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
3. Description of Service
anon.li provides privacy-focused tools, including:
- Alias: Anonymous email forwarding service. Users can generate email aliases that forward messages to a primary email address without revealing their real identity.
- Drop: End-to-end encrypted file sharing. Secure file uploads and sharing with zero-knowledge encryption - we cannot access your file contents.
- PGP Integration: Optional PGP encryption support for forwarded emails.
- Custom Domains: Ability to use your own domain for email aliases (paid plans).
- API Access: Programmatic access to create and manage aliases and files.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of significant changes.
4. Account Registration and Security
To access certain features, you must register for an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information during registration.
- Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials and two-factor authentication secrets.
- Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.
- Notify us immediately at security@anon.li of any unauthorized use or security breach.
- Maintain control of the inbox, password, and authenticator devices you use to sign in.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or pose security risks.
5. Subscriptions, Payments, and Refunds
5.1. Service Plans
We offer Free, Plus, and Pro plans with varying features and limits. Plans are available for individual products (Alias, Drop) or as a Bundle. Current pricing and plan details are available at anon.li/pricing.
5.2. Billing
Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring monthly or yearly basis. You authorize us to charge your chosen payment method (processed by Stripe) for all applicable fees. Prices are displayed in your local currency where available.
5.3. Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time via your dashboard. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will retain access to paid features until then.
5.4. Refunds
Except as required by law, all fees are non-refundable. We do not provide refunds for:
- Partial subscription periods
- Unused features or storage
- Plan downgrades
If you believe you are entitled to a refund under applicable consumer protection laws, contact hi@anon.li.
5.5. Plan Downgrades
Downgrading your plan may result in:
- Loss of access to premium features (e.g., custom domains, extended expiry)
- Reduced storage limits
- Deletion of data exceeding new plan limits
We will notify you before any automatic data deletion occurs.
6. User Conduct and Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must comply with our Acceptable Use Policy, which prohibits:
- Sending spam, phishing emails, or unsolicited commercial messages
- Distributing malware, viruses, or other harmful code
- Uploading or sharing illegal content, including but not limited to child sexual abuse material (CSAM), non-consensual intimate imagery, or terrorist content
- Harassing, threatening, or abusing others
- Impersonating individuals or organizations
- Circumventing service limits, rate limits, or security measures
- Using the Service for fraudulent purposes
Violation of these rules will result in immediate termination of your account and may be reported to law enforcement.
7. Intellectual Property
7.1. Our Content
All content, features, and functionality of the Service (excluding User Content) are the exclusive property of anon.li and its licensors. This includes, but is not limited to:
- The anon.li name, logo, and branding
- Website design and user interface
- Software and code (released under open-source license)
- Documentation and marketing materials
You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.
7.2. Your Content
You retain all rights to any data or files you upload ("User Content"). By uploading User Content, you grant anon.li a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license solely to:
- Store and transmit your encrypted files as you direct
- Forward emails to your designated addresses
- Provide the Service as you request
We do not claim ownership of your User Content and will not use it for any purpose other than providing the Service.
7.3. Open Source
Our public codebase is available under an open-source license at codeberg.org/anonli. Use of open-source components is subject to their respective licenses. The hosted service may also rely on infrastructure and operational controls that are not fully represented in this repository.
8. Privacy and Data Protection
Your privacy is fundamental to our Service. Our collection and use of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy. Key points:
- We use zero-knowledge encryption for file sharing
- Alias forwarding is designed not to store email content at rest, but mail handling depends on separate forwarding infrastructure
- We minimize data collection and retention
- We do not sell your data or use it for advertising
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ANON.LI DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE
- NON-INFRINGEMENT
- UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE SERVICE
- ACCURACY OR RELIABILITY OF ANY CONTENT
We do not warrant that the Service will meet your specific requirements or that any errors will be corrected.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ANON.LI AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
- INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES
- LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES
- DAMAGES RESULTING FROM UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO YOUR ACCOUNT
- DAMAGES RESULTING FROM THIRD-PARTY CONDUCT OR CONTENT
IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations of liability. In such cases, our liability shall be limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless anon.li and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of the Service
- Your User Content
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights
- Your violation of applicable laws
12. DMCA and Copyright
anon.li respects intellectual property rights and responds to valid takedown requests. We operate as a neutral service provider and do not proactively monitor user content.
For copyright infringement claims, see our DMCA Policy. We will:
- Respond to valid DMCA notices promptly
- Remove or disable access to infringing content
- Terminate accounts of repeat infringers
13. Termination
13.1. By You
You may terminate your account at any time through your dashboard settings. Upon termination:
- Your account will be deactivated
- Your account data will be deleted from live systems immediately
- Active subscriptions will not be refunded
13.2. By Us
We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without notice, if:
- You violate these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy
- We are required to do so by law
- Your account poses a security risk
- Your account has been inactive for an extended period
14. Dispute Resolution
Before filing a formal dispute, you agree to contact us at legal@anon.li and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.
14.2. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Liechtenstein, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
14.3. Jurisdiction
Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Liechtenstein, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in such courts.
15. General Provisions
15.1. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Acceptable Use Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and anon.li regarding the Service.
15.2. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
15.3. Waiver
Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other provision.
15.4. Assignment
You may not assign or transfer your rights under these Terms. We may assign our rights to any affiliate or successor.
16. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we will:

- Send an email notification to registered users
- Update the "Last Updated" date
Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the new Terms, you must stop using the Service.
